Reminder Call for nominations of fellows – assessment of invasive alien species

Dear IPBES members, observers and stakeholders,

With reference to notification EM/2018/30 (11 December 2018), I would like to remind you of the deadline for applications for the nominations of fellows for the upcoming IPBES assessment of invasive alien species. Interested candidates who would like to seek nomination by a Government, relevant institution or organization are encouraged to fill in their application form through the dedicated web portal no later than 15 February 2019. Nominators (Governments, institutions and organizations) are required to approve the applications and submit their nominations by 1 March 2019.

Relevant organizations, such as research institutes or universities, are welcome to nominate, regardless of whether they are or not an accredited observer to the IPBES Plenary. Please note that the first meeting of the expert group, including an induction day for fellows, is scheduled for 18-23 August 2019 in Japan. All selected fellows are invited and expected to attend this meeting as part of their terms of accepting to participate as a fellow. We thank all Governments and Observers that have already submitted their nominations and look forward to receiving even more in the coming days. Yours sincerely,

Anne Larigauderie | Executive Secretary Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
