Comments:It is generally believed that it is introduced via ballast water to the Netherlands and then spread to Scandinavia from there (either by itself or via Ballast water). Some publications find that source population for the introduction into the North Sea is North America, rather than the commonly mentioned one from the Black Sea (Bolte et al 2013, Ghaboli et al 2011).
